Sometimes luxury is hard to find at the dollar store but it's easy to make when you find all the right items! We found chips, chocolate and gold edible glitter at dollar tree and this is what we made with it.

This little diy is so easy to do that you can complete it even if your sleep! Okay maybe not. But process is very simple to do.

Let's show you how to do it!

1. Prepare all of your materials first

It's really important that you have everything you need already prepared in front of you. This will save you time and a lot of frustration.

You are going to need the following:

  1. A large cookie tray
  2. Parchment paper (optional)
  3. One small bowl
  4. Paper towels
  5. Your ingredients (chocolate bars, gold glitter and chips)

You should clean off a large portion of your kitchen countertop or use your dining room table (with protective covering) to use as your work surface. Once you have found the right work space, place your materials in the appropriate areas in the order they will be used.

If you haven't done so already, you should download our FREE ebook on how you can make money from the dollar store!

2. Melt Your Chocolate Bars

For this diy, we used two bars of chocolate. We wanted to make sure that we had more than enough rather than less. And having the extra chocolate bar allowed us to dip from above than from the sides (which I find to be messy).

We unwrapped both chocolate bars and broke it up into smaller pieces and placed it inside a small bowl. My plan was to microwave it but I quickly learned that that was a bad idea. So I ended up melting it over the stove top and I added some light cream to help it dissolve better.

This was when I microwaved it. Bad mistake! Use the stove top instead.

Leave it on the heat until it becomes a semi liquid consistency. Pour into bowl for dipping.

3. Dip your chip

With your chocolate has melted and your bag of chips opened, grab a chip and dip into the melted chocolate and quickly sprinkle on some gold glitter.

Leave in fridge for about 15 minutes. Don't leave it in too long or else you risk the chips becoming stale.

Now you can enjoy your chocolate dipped chips with friends and family!

It is really that simple and it tastes great! I bought all my ingredients from Dollar Tree, including the chips, chocolate bars and gold glitter.
